Are you interested in the future of cities? The Crystal in London is home to the world’s largest exhibition on the future of cities and one of the most sustainable buildings and conference venues in the world. Siemens opened the Crystal in 2012 as a global hub for debate on sustainable living and development. It is planned and built according to the most strict environmental performance criteria. In the building operates the Siemens Competence Center for Cities while the wider public can visit interactive multimedia exhibition on the topic of urbanization trends and environmental technologies. Thousands of meetings, events, conferences and symposia on the topic of urbanisation and environmental sustainability of cities have been hosted in its sustainable events venue.

The Crystal sets the benchmark for sustainable building design. It is a fully electric building that uses solar energy and a ground source heat pump to produce its own energy. The latest state-of-the-art Siemens technologies for more efficient and sustainable buildings are presented there. The building includes rainwater collection, black water cleaning, solar heating and automated building management systems. Crystal is part of the Urban Sustainability Center project developed by Siemens in cooperation with the city authorities in London.
