#Worldready – for Jobs of the Future with His Royal Highness, the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex
It was our privilege and honour to host His Royal Highness the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, at one of our chamber events. Event#Worldready – for Jobs of the Future – was organised on 15 May 2019 in Grand Hotel Union, together with MEPI and The British Embassy in Ljubljana, with the aim of promoting the importance of nonformal education.
His Royal Highness, the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, Blaž Brodnjak, President of the management Board at NLB, Martina Vuk, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education Science and Sport and Gregor Deleja, Principal of Celje Center Grammar School discussed the importance of nonformal education in relation to business and the education system.
His Royal Highness emphasised that formal education is as important as education gained outside of the classroom and pointed out the advantages of the MEPI program (Mednarodno Priznanje za Mlade). It helps young people to prepare for the real world by teaching them persistence, goal-orientation and giving them social skills that make them more employable and give them a good platform to better fit into the real world, into real jobs.
