Talk about the weather – or actually get straight to the point?

If I followed British etiquette, I should probably spend a few minutes discussing the weather first, perhaps checking whether there are any clouds over London. Only then I would slowly get down to business.

In my case, that part lasts about ten seconds. A handshake, a smile, a quick “how are you?”, and then straight to the question: how many litres, at what price, and where your vehicles are operating.

In logistics and mobility, reality is fairly straightforward. Vehicles move, fuel flows, tolls are charged. No one really has time for a meteorological conference.
