People and Culture Council Explores How Members Are Applying AI in HR

The People and Culture Council held its latest meeting on 7 November 2025, kindly hosted by Competo. This session was dedicated to hearing directly from members about how they are integrating artificial intelligence into HR-related tools and solutions, combining legal, ethical, and practical perspectives.

Reflecting on this broader landscape, Matic Čad, Partner at Law Firm Čad and Co-Chair of the Council, addressed the complex intersection between law, ethics, and digitalisation. He shared that technological development is progressing faster than regulation, leaving organisations to navigate a maze of compliance requirements, privacy concerns, and moral questions. As algorithms begin to influence hiring and evaluation decisions, he said, employers must not only ask what is lawful, but also what is fair and responsible.

He went on to explain that while parts of the EU AI Act have already entered into force, most provisions will apply by 2026, gradually introducing clearer obligations for companies. Slovenian legislation, including the Labour Relations Act and GDPR, already regulates certain aspects of AI use at work. Čad also pointed out that algorithms can unintentionally introduce bias – for example by disadvantaging candidates based on gender, age, or ethnicity – and stressed the importance of careful risk assessments, internal company policies, and employee training to ensure responsible implementation.

Building on this legal and ethical context, the Council then heard from two members who shared how they are integrating AI into their own HR solutions.

Eva Esih, Member of Društvo VTIS and Founder & CEO of PsyBit, presented JobbitAI, a tool her company developed that uses artificial intelligence to automatically create and manage recruitment campaigns on social media. In a labour market with low unemployment and many passive jobseekers, the platform helps employers reach a broader audience and streamline the candidate-selection process.

From another perspective, Franja Ridzi, CEO, and Jasmina Ridzi, HRM Consultant at FledgeWorks, demonstrated how AI can enhance performance management by supporting managers in defining goals and expected outcomes. This structured approach helps ensure consistency, fairness, and transparency in evaluation processes. They also shared their plans to enter the UK market, where they see opportunities for further growth and international partnerships.
