Annual Plan of Work
The United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU) have signed a Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA), which has brought to a close a period of uncertainty. The TCA stands as the world’s largest zero tariffs and zero quotas deal. Moreover, the agreement on the Windsor Framework, which outlines trade with Northern Ireland, demonstrates that the UK and EU can collaborate creatively to resolve differences and forge a mutually beneficial relationship. The opportunities presented by the TCA are expanded upon with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Financial Services cooperation.
The British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce promotes trade and investment between the UK and Slovenia. Since 2016, we have organized numerous events and briefings on the topic of the UK’s exit from the EU, providing Slovenian companies with information on new rules regarding trade with the UK.
We're now establishing a UK Trade Council, which aims to facilitate and grow trade between the UK and Slovenia, covering the subsequent areas:
-
informing Slovenian and UK companies on rules and regulations on trade-related topics,
-
identifying market access barriers that prevent companies from engaging in fair trade,
-
pursuing policy advocacy to facilitate trade and collaborating with the Slovenian government,
-
providing expert market advice from the Chamber's members and partners, as well as from the Department of Business and Trade,
-
providing companies doing business with the UK and Slovenia with market advice and relevant contacts to facilitate trade or overcome business obstacles.
