Asset Management Delegation Visits Edinburgh
Between 6 and 9 May 2026, the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce organised an Asset Management Delegation to Edinburgh, one of the UK’s strongest financial clusters outside London and a major European centre for investment management and asset servicing.
Edinburgh enjoys a strong international reputation as a longstanding and resilient financial centre, with strong expertise across banking, asset management, private banking, and institutional investment. Its established history in financial services, combined with a strong base of independent investment boutiques, institutional managers, and specialist firms, makes the city an important reference point for understanding long-term investment strategies and the development of the wider UK financial ecosystem.
A delegation comprising representatives from Sava Infond, Sava pokojninska, OTP banka, NLB, NLB Skladi, Triglav Investments, Generali Investments, A Tax International, InterCapital, Uniko, and ZDU GIZ visited Edinburgh to learn more about current trends in asset management, private banking, institutional investment, and long-term value creation.
During the visit, delegates heard directly from Aubrey Capital Management, Kennox Asset Management, Baillie Gifford, Aegon Asset Management, PXN Group, and Cadro. The meetings offered perspectives on Edinburgh’s investment ecosystem and on the different models that shape the city’s financial services sector, from independent boutique investment firms to global asset managers and private banking operations.
The program covered a wide range of topics, including active growth investing, emerging markets, private markets, fixed income, institutional mandates, boutique ownership models, client trust, long-term value creation, and the discipline required to invest through changing market cycles.
The delegation provided Slovenian and regional financial institutions with valuable market perspectives, direct access to leading investment professionals, and an opportunity to better understand how Edinburgh continues to maintain its position as one of Europe’s most respected financial centres.
